The difference between steel and graphite shafts

Golf clubs come in two types of shafts, steel and graphite. The type of shaft you opt depends on your swing profile. Graphite shafts are slightly more expensive than steel shafts. The price difference is not as significant as it was in the past. For example a complete graphite set may set you back an extra €30 to €40.

Great Golf Gift Ideas

If you are a little bewildered by the vast range of golfing equipment on offer, I have put together a list of five gift ideas that any golfer would appreciate. I have selected a range of gifts to suit different sized budgets.

Accessories to help keep your clubs clean

If you have invested in a good set of clubs and are playing with a quality golf ball, like a Pro V1 or a Z Star it is important to keep your clubs free from and dirt or debris during your round.

A simple warm up exercise to try

For more times than I can remember I have walked straight onto the first tee without doing any warm up with some pretty disastrous results.

Good golf practice aids

There are a number of different golf aids that you can pick up quite cheaply that will help you to improve your game. Best of all they don't take up much space at home or in the office and you don't need to take much time out of your day to use them.

Adding a hybrid to your bag

Hybrids have become really popular in recent years, a lot of the pros now carry at least one hybrid in their bag. At last years Open Championship the lowest iron in Rickie Fowler's bag was a 6 iron.

Using a chipper for bump and run shots

A lot of golfers like to use their putters around the greens. This is because there is less of a back swing and you can get a firmer connection with the ball.

What to consider when purchasing your next golf glove

As a rule golfers play with one glove only. If you are a right handed player you wear a glove on your left hand and visa versa if you are a left handed player.

Using a simple golf swing

A lot of us don't have as much time as we would like to work on our golf swing down on the range. Therefore, it does make sense to simplify you swing and perfect a swing that works for you, and importantly you can repeat it over and over again.

Choosing an electric golf trolley

Electric golf trolleys are very handy to have around the golf course, particularly if it is a long or hilly course. They are also a much needed piece of equipment if you are having some difficulty carrying your clubs due to age or ill health.
