There are a number of different types of golf bags available on the market today to suit all kinds of golfer. They include staff bags, cart bags, carry bags, stand bags and feather bags.
Carry/Stand Bags
If you prefer to carry your bag a carry/stand bag is the best option for you. Most carry bags incorporate a stand in them now, so when you put your bag down the legs automatically pop out and you can stand it on the ground.
Cleveland incorporated patented suspension in the straps of their carry bags in 2012, as well as being very light weight they were comfortable to carry. Most carry bags now have dual straps, you carry your bag like a school bag over both shoulders to distribute the weight of your bag evenly across your back.
The Cleveland Carry bag has also been cleverly designed to mount onto a trolley should you wish to use a pull trolley. Most carry bags come with 7 way divider tops, two clubs per divider.
If you like lots of storage for all your wet gear, accessories, grub etc a cart bag may be a better option for you. You do not carry your cart bag around and they will sit into either a pull trolley or an electric trolley.
Staff Bags
A staff bag is used by pro's and is the largest bag type available on the market. For this type of bag you will definitely need an electric trolley. We have a nice leather Forgan Staff bag available which combines nicely with the Hill Billy Terrain Trolley.
Cart Bags
For bigger cart bags like the Powakaddy Sport bag a three wheel trolley is a good choice. The Stowamatic Prolite 3 wheel trolley is an award winning trolley and can carry heavier bags easier than a regular two wheel trolley. The third wheel at the rear of the trolley can be removed easily if you wish to use only two wheels and added on again to revert back to three wheels.
For smaller cart bags, such as the Wilson Prostaff, Cleveland Deluxe and Wilson Alpine bags the Stowamatic Stowaway or Masters 1 Series trolley are ideal. The Stowamatcic Stowaway trolley folds very compactly which is handy for fitting into the boot of the car.
Most cart bags come with 14 way divider tops and the divider goes all the way down the bag for better club protection. This is recommended for graphite shafted clubs particularly.
Feather Bags
The feather bag is a very lightweight bag for carrying a half set around a par 3 course for example. They come with a small stand so that the bag sits nicely on the ground when not in use. They generally have 4 way divider tops and come with 3/4 pockets.
