MD's latest set of irons are the Superstrong ST2 steel irons. Forged from 403 stainless steel, which is one of the highest quality stainless steels available, the Superstrong ST2 irons are very easy to hit. They are incredibly forgiving and provide a tremendous amount of distance and loft. The ST2's feature an undercut cavity that allows for a wider sole. In general, wider soles help golfers align their shots better and allow for greater length and accuracy.
The Superstrong irons are also fitted with the new Tour Force shaft. The flexibility and strength of the shaft provide additional benefits for distance and loft. There are seven irons in the set, ranging from the 5 iron (27 degrees) to the Sand Wedge (55 degrees). Compared to other iron sets, the loft degrees of the Superstrong ST2 irons are slightly higher, which keeps the ball in the air for longer.
All of the Superstrong irons have a swingweight of D-2, which puts them at a slightly heavier swingweight than most men's irons, which tend to be a lighter D-0 or D-1 swingweight. A heavier swingweight means the club head feels a little bit heavier, and this extra bit of club head weight makes them more forgiving. The large club face of ST2's will help you address the ball correctly and build your confidence over the shot. The low centre of gravity of the clubs will help golfers strike their shots more cleanly and avoid large divots.
